Here’s a few words with COMUNE skateboarder Don “NUGE” Nguyen.
Corey: Yo man, what’s new?
Nuge: Not much, same shit everday and everything else is a bonus. Skate all day, party all nite, and then wake up and blog so i can remember what happened the night before.
Corey: What’s up with your new blog www.nugeparty.com?
Nuge: It’s just some shit to do in the meantime between time. I figure I never print my digi photos that often, so I might as well post them somewhere me and some homies can see it.
Corey: What kind of car do you drive?
Nuge: A 1979 pontiac firebird. I call her black sally. and I have a 1971 triumph bonnevile.
Corey: How fast does it go?
Nuge: The car is alright, it’s only a 4.9 liter 301. I drive as fast as I can.
Corey: Would you rather trip an old lady, or wear one of Gareth’s stinky tee shirts for a month?
Nuge: Shit, make the old lady wear gareths t-shirt!
Corey: Would you rather kick a cat as hard as you can, or have no grip tape, and flat spots for a month?
Nuge! Kick a cat! Fuck flat spots.
Corey: Name your top five favorite records right now.
Nuge: Uriah Heep, Masters Apprentices, Ten Years After, Link Wray, and The Witch.
Corey: Who would win in a fight, King Diamond or Anton La Vey?
Nuge: King Diamond. His name itself kicks Anton’s ass. Think about it, his name means the king of the hardest of all rock.
Corey: When I was growing up there was a kid in my neighborhood that buried a cat up to it’s head, then ran it over with a lawn mower. He had to move away. You’re not that same kid are you?
Nuge: No, but I did run over a bunch of skin heads in a car once.

Tahoe You’ve Done it Again.
I’ve been in Tahoe for the past three weeks working on a COMUNE video project to be announced soon. As you can see we got some really great snow and were able to log some really sick shots. We met up with snowboarder and artist Joe Polillo and built this massive wall ride. It took us about a day to dig it out. Ben Rice and Jake Devine sessioned it and we had a blast. I’m off to Portland then back down South for some Bear action then back to Tahoe in a week or so. See you on the road!
