Night before last we went and saw Los Angeles based psych/heavy metal band Green and Wood play. This band features COMUNE/Drop City contributor Magda Wosinska and legendary skateboarder Ethan Fowler. I would have had this post up yesterday but my big kid hangover prevented me from doing so.
There was enough long hair to wrap around the moon and enough tall boys of Pabst to fill an ocean. We ran into a bunch of friends including Drop City contributors Bryan Schnelle, Cameron Strand, and Kevin Castanheira. Green and Wood rips and I highly recommend you check them out.
Later in the evening we ventured over to Harvard and Stone where we saw guitar shredder extraordinaire Guy Blakeslee of The Entrance Band perform solo. It was pretty endearing seeing him on stage all alone. Hearing all of The Entrance Band songs stripped down to a single guitar was definitely a show to remember. It was a nice surprise and I think people were digging it. Highlight of the evening was seeing one of the most famous bearded men of them all, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top! He was just hanging out and partying. Chaos ensued and we had a blast as usual. I love living in LA!
